Testimonials

  • Having been born and having spent my character-defining years in war-torn Afghanistan, I have deep roots and strong connections to the people and culture of my country. Like many Afghans who fled during the Soviet occupation, I was able to find refuge in the United States and have enjoyed the comforts this country offers. However, I have never forgotten or disconnected from my countrymen who continue to face dire challenges and lack basic essentials that many of us take for granted. The most vulnerable among them are the widows and orphans of war. Anyone who helps these children by providing care and basic necessities contributes to shaping the future of Afghanistan. One organization that has been doing this with the utmost transparency, honesty, and dignity is the Orphan House Foundation. I have supported OHF and have seen firsthand how they create a nurturing and supportive environment for the children in their care. I have had the pleasure of personally visiting the Orphan House multiple times and witnessing their loving approach to improving the lives of these children. I am a proud donor to this organization, and I urge you to support their cause and pledge your annual support.

  • I visited the orphanage several years ago. One thing that has always stayed with me is Dr. Halimi’s statement that he would treat these orphans as if they were his own children. I can attest that what I saw reflected exactly that commitment. The children were receiving the very best that Afghanistan could offer. They attended a top private school, had after-school tutors, and were extremely well cared for. Most importantly, the children were very happy at the orphanage.

  • There are many orphanage projects in Afghanistan, and they are all worthy of our support. The reason I support the Orphan House is because they treat the orphans as they would their own children—providing them with the highest level of education, a safe and clean living environment, and comprehensive care for their physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, with special attention to their religious duties. May Allah continue to bless this noble project. noble project.

  • I had the pleasure of touring the Orphan House during my visit to Kabul in the summer of 2024. I came away deeply impressed by the care, professionalism, and warmth I witnessed throughout the facility. The Orphan House was exceptionally clean, well organized, and very well run. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that a great deal of thought and effort goes into creating a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for the children. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their genuine dedication was evident in every interaction. The children were visibly happy and full of energy, and they were especially excited to see us—greeting us with smiles and enthusiasm that were truly heartwarming. Located in Karte Char, one of the nicer areas of Kabul, the facility is equipped with all the essential amenities that make daily life easier and more enjoyable for the children. There is a chef on site who ensures the children receive proper meals, as well as a dedicated driver who safely transports them to and from school each day in a minibus. Overall, the Orphan House stands as a wonderful example of compassionate care and thoughtful management, and it was an honor to witness the positive impact it is having on the lives of these children. It was truly inspiring to see an environment where children feel safe, valued, and joyful, and where they are given the resources and encouragement to thrive. Visiting the Orphan House was both moving and uplifting, and it was a privilege to witness firsthand the meaningful and positive impact this organization is having on young lives in Kabul.

  • Last year (2025), I had the privilege of visiting Dr. Halimi’s orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan, and I was deeply moved by the experience. The quality of the institution is a true testament to the dedication of Dr. Halimi and his team. The children are not only receiving a top-tier education, but they are also nurtured holistically—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The children’s manners, their interactions with one another and with their caretakers, and their academic achievements were all exceptional. At a time when so many orphanages struggle, this one stands out as a beacon of hope and excellence, built on decades of care and love. I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Afghanistan take the time to and love. I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Afghanistan take the time to stop by the orphanage and spend time with the children.

  • Last year, my family and I had the privilege of visiting this orphanage in Kabul, and it left a profound impression on me. From the moment we arrived, the orderliness of both the staff and the children was striking – everything was so meticulously organized, and the environment was wonderfully clean, offering the orphans a truly adequate and healthy space. It was especially uplifting to learn that these bright young minds were attending a private Turkish school, with a dedicated van ensuring their safe transport daily. But what truly touched my heart was meeting the children themselves. They were not only incredibly loving and polite but also proudly introduced themselves in English, which was truly amazing to witness. Even more inspiring was a young man we spoke with, also an orphan, who was just embarking on his first year of dental school, determined to become a dentist. Moments like these fill you with such hope and pride. What a testament to their spirit and the care they receive, mA.

  • Orphan House selflessly provides housing, educational services, and medical aid to our beloved Afghan brothers and sisters in need. My father, may God have mercy on his soul, took great honor in supporting Orphan House because he knew the founders and leaders of the organization to be honest, upright, and trustworthy individuals. As a family, we continue to see these same qualities in the leadership of Orphan House. That is why we have supported the organization over the years and intend to continue doing so for as long as we are able, Insha’Allah.
